Pinhole Photography Information

Designing the Pinhole Photographic System

You may be familiar with the Pinhole Concept by now, but putting it to practical use takes some creativity and skill.  Pinhole Cameras can be made out of many things, including standard SLR Cameras, Large & Medium Format Cameras, Tins, Containers, and other various items.

When designing your own pinhole camera, you'll need the following simple items:

Camera Body - Be it a Shoe Box or a Hassy, you'll need something light-tight.

Film Holder - If it's not already standard on your camera, you'll need something to hold your film

Shutter - Sometimes as simple as a cork plug or a sliding wedge of cardboard, shutters come in all shapes and applications.  Lenox Laser recommends the use of a shutter that will allow you long exposure times (ie. a Bulb or T setting).

Precision Pinhole - Lenox Laser makes the highest quality, laser-drilled photographic pinholes available on the market.  Please visit our products pages for a look at our easy-to-use online store.

Example Pinhole Camera Set-up:
The Bolgiano Camera above is a handmade 4x5" Pinhole Camera, outfitted with a simple 4x5" Film Holder,

Whatever type of Pinhole Camera you'd like to use, Lenox Laser can provide the correct pinhole designed to perform at your given focal length.  Our line of burr-free micro-apertures are highly respected in optical laboratories world-wide, and we have taken the same care and precision into the Pinhole Photography world with each Lenox Laser Photo Pinhole.
